For the number of children displayed,
I use Custom, Option 8, 8.5 Child Columns on View, Best Fit Columns
This allows a 12 children family to be displayed in 3 columns.

I would like to capture some views of my data for a talk / display of family
(various generations). Perhaps this would be easier with a report, but the
colours in the usual user edit views are more attractive than the paper prints.

Is there a way to change the view in Legacy, to see more than about 5 or 6
children in the Children pane?
I have this in grid list. By minimizing the Ribbon I can see 7 children. It
might be helpful if the Parents pane could be "switched off", and the lower
ones have more vertical space - but I can see that would create other problems
(usability, programming).

There are other views, like Descendants, which are flexible enough to show a
few generations if the families are small.
