just as a note, when you right click on the section of the family screen
that contains  the born bapt died etc. info a screen comes up where you can
select what you want to show.  There are a number of things one of which is
"blank".  If you select that then there is a blank line there but no chr. or
bap.  Would that not do what you want it to?
