What I suggest to people who wish to upgrade from win98 to winME or Win98 to
Win2000 is to go buy a new hard drive (20 gig for <$90 is cheap) and do a
clean install of the new operating system. Once you have the OS and all your
primary programs installed then slave the old hard drive to the new one and
copy/import your files from the old hard drive. Hard drive are pretty easy
to install. If you're not comfortable installing the new drive you can have
a computer shop or friend do it. They can set up the new drive, install the
OS and slave the old drive to the new one. Then you can take it from there.

Hi ,
I Reread my message below and I feel I might have misguided you! I did
install WinMe over Win98Se and had problems, however when I did a clean
install of WinMe I had no problems at all. To install clean, you use the
update Disk as it has the full WinMe program on it, and during installation
you do require your old program disk because the ME Windows program requires
it verify that you are the owner of the earlier program. Remember you must
have a backup of your data as you loose all during the process!
Colin.
