Sharon,
I second the recommendation regarding XP. I think that it offers a lot of
promise. However, as Jim points out, Microsoft first releases are usually
full of bugs. You're much better off waiting.
If you don't play games on your computer, then Win2000 Pro is highly
recommended. However, I understand that it's usually not recommended for
home users; it's implied that maintenance is difficult for
non-professionals. Since I'm a "professional" I can't tell you whether
that's true or not.
Comments, anybody?
Regards,
Shosh Kalson

Sharon,
I have Legacy running on my desktop Win2000 Pro machine and my laptop Win ME
and it runs great on either. I have a home network and can flawlessly move
my data between the machines.
I disagree a little with several recommendations that you wait to buy XP
next month. I have enough experience with Microsoft new releases that I
plan to wait a year or so to let them get the bugs out before I venture that
direction.
