To Lincoln Mulkey - If you use Windows XP, XP has a
CD burner resident in the operating system which can be used for backing up to
CD your backed up Legacy files. But of course if you use XP you already know
that.
All you need to do is back up your Legacy Family
file as a Zip file using Legacy, find out where that backed up file is resident
within Legacy (probably in the Data Folder as a *.zip file )- and then use the
"copy this file" feature of XP to copy your backed up family .zip file to a RW
CD.
In the unlikely event that you and perhaps a few
other users do not know how to find your backed up (*.zip) family file within
the Legacy folder. Here is one method.
Hold the thought that what follows is primarily for
Windows XP which includes a CD burner. The procedure for merely locating the
Data folder but not writing to a CD is identical for most Windows operating
systems
Left Click twice on the MY COMPUTER
ICON
Left Click twice on your HARD DISK
ICON
A list of folders will be displayed along with
other file type icons.
Look for a folder named LEGACY.
Left Click twice on the LEGACY folder - the folder
opens
Look for a folder named DATA
Left click twice on the DATA folder
The DATA folder opens - you will see your backed up
Legacy family files. Each backed up family file (if more than one) will be
preceded with a ZIP folder ICON and will be described as a compressed (zipped)
folder - depending on which VIEW you have designated to display the
folders/files .
Left click once on the file you want to copy to
a RW CD and follow the copy instructions as they appear.

direct to myself. At times I will go for days or even weeks without checking the
