Hi
Jon,
I have
seen this in Michigan prior to 1900. The individuals might live in Addison
Township, Oakland County and their mailing address was Warren, Macomb County. A
considerable distance apart.

-----Original Message-----In Minnesota, at least, I've had an even more interesting problem. In the 1890s and early 1900s, someone's mailing address would be a town in a county other than the one in which they lived. The post office was the closest one to them and they didn't care about county divisions. That does make for interesting searches.
