Robert, your problem intrigued me so I worked on it and found out a way to do it. I'm not sure it will be worth it to you but here goes...
1. Edit your list of locations so it is a simple ged file in the following format: 0 HEAD 0 @I1@ INDI 1 NAME John /Doe/ 1 RESI 2 PLAC Bethel, Windsor, VT 1 RESI 2 PLAC Burlington, Chittenden, VT 1 RESI 2 PLAC Glen Cove, Nassau, NY 0 TRLR 2. Open a new blank family file (name it places or something so it doesn't get mixed up with your real files.) 3. Import the ged file you created. It will import 1 individual who will have a lot of events called residence and all your places. Save and close this. 4. Open your real family file and go to the master location list, options, import..., browse to places.fdb, check import location list, import lists. I tested it and it works. -----Original Message----- From: Robert Carneal [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, July 31, 2002 11:44 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [LegacyUG] Importing Locations Is it possible to import a text list of locations? JUST locations? If not, no biggie- but wow it would save time with this next bunch of people I am entering. Thanks.
