Hi Pete

And in addition, when you only want to share your family-data with people who
allready have Legacy:
Use the backup-features in Legacy: Backup Family File and Backup Multimedia
Files from the files menu.

For restoring the multimedia files you will have to use an unzip-program. You
should unzip the files with the options to restore the path also. Furthermore
be sure that all these files are on the C-drive, not everybody has got a D- or
E-drive

Wim

[Onderwerp: Re: [LegacyUG] CD-ROM copy of database?
  [
  [
[Thanks for your prompt reply, but I am trying to build a CD to send to
[someone else. What happens if the CD drive letter is different on the
[system it is intended for, or subsequently changes. I have K:, but it would
[usually be D: with only one hard disk, and E: with two. I don't want to
  [dictate other peoples configurations.
  [
[Is the picture location saved in the database file? If so, the locations
  [would be burned in too.
  [
[It seems that the solution may have to be to copy the database to the
[target machine (and possibly the media files) and then set the Legacy
[location afterwards. I could build an InstallShield distribution to do
[this, but it would be nice if I could automate the setting of the Legacy
[locations - is there a way to do this from a command line, script or
  [program?
  [
  [thanks, Pete
