It is true that your Windows will keep on working. HOWEVER, before long your new applications will no longer work on the old version of Windows. Many now are no longer compatible with Win 3.0 or 3.1. Most everyone has long ago forgotten about Win 2.0 It was really a dog or the 8 inch floppies that systems worked with. The point is we like to keep the OS that we become familiar with and get the newest and flashiest applications. Eventually the rubber band that connects the two breaks and usually no one is even around that can transfer the files or has the interpreter to filter them. It is happening at an ever faster rate. The saying "The faster I run the behinder I get" is still true. The minute I find that I start having file exchange problems is the time I go for a complete upgrade --- everything.
