Bill, You are not exactly "missing something." I think you've probably picked up on something that I have noticed. It works ok (sort of) if only one side has more than one marriage. But there is a flaw, which is what you are probably referring to. In my case, I use this arrangement only if the individual with multiple marriages is a Woodman, based on the assumption that most, if not all, my reports will be centered on a Woodman line. However, if a report is generated centered on the line of the spouse of a Woodman, then it does not work, as it uses the same wording (Married 1st, married 2nd, etc.) in both directions, left to right or right to left, even if that individual did not have more than one marriage. I admit it's not perfect, but so far it has worked well for me. I just need need to keep in mind that idiosyncracy. In those cases where it does not work, then I explain the marriages in the notes.
It would be a nice feature in Legacy that where there is more than one marriage for any spouse in a family unit, Legacy would add the wording "married 2nd" and so forth. This wording would be based on the chronological listing of the marriages. Then it would not be necessary to "trick" the program, with the potential of a flawed report as explained above. The report then reads nicely "Jack married 1st > > Jill" followed by all their information. It next reads "Jack married 2nd > > Betty," and so on. > > > > Glenn Woodman > > Vancouver, Washington > > > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: "C.G.
