Hi Beverly,
There are two ways.
One is to have the bold, the other is to use the preferred child - which shows with asterisk. You can use both.

First you need to make sure these options are turned on.
Options > Customize > View Tab
check in boxes in Show Preferred and Direct Line Children

Then the program needs to know what direct line you want.
On Family View put yourself (or required person) in main position and highlight.
Then Tools > Set direct line as preferred.

You can also turn on in Customize the Ancestor Color Coding and set that in the Tools menu as well - this may be a deluxe feature.

Cheers,
Cathy

I am a new user of Legacy and I am also using the Pocket Genealogist. I
have used Generations for many years. In the past my individual
ancestors were "in bold" so I could easily tell which child was my
ancestor. Is there anyway to have my individual ancestors HIGHLIGHTED
rather then try to remember which child is my gr-gr-gr-grandfather, etc.
I am sure that there is a why to do that, but I can't find it anywhere.

Any help would be very appreciated!
