Sorry Denise, I erased too much of the previous
message.
Cathy stated that the Gedcom backup is a precaution in
the event Legacy software is no longer available
(which I very much hope never happens, but has indeed
happened to many other genealogy programs over the
last few years.) In that case, the Gedcom files could
be transferred to any other current program.
I haven't yet made a Gedcom backup, but am planning on
doing so in the next few days.
