Thanks, Jim.  I think you missed my point that I also wanted to omit all of
the ancestors of my father's parents, but that's no problem, I can see it
would be the same procedure as my husband's parent's ancestors.  I will give
your instructions a try, I am sure they will work.  You also mention
creating a Gedcom for the remainder to send to my cousin.  Do I need to
worry that some of the details would not go through OK to her?  She has
Legacy Deluxe, perhaps a 4 month old build.  I have the latest build.  Or
should I send her a copy of my remaining file after burning it to a CD, and
tell her to download the latest build? If the Gedcom will do just as good a
job, I had rather do it that way.  However, quality would be the first
concern.  I have a very large number of events, sources and notes (some of
them very long notes) in the file that I would like to remain intact.
