I do the same as you - keep them as events. This did get me thinking though
about other awards. Not that any of my family is one but if there were an
OBE or MBE (Order/Member of the British Empire) I might put them in the
suffix since that is how they read. I do have a number with military service
awards and again these might naturally appear afterwards eg John Smith VC
(Victoria Cross) - at the moment I have these only as events.

I would like to get a sense of what the group feels about the following.

I have always included university degrees as an event. However, I recently
received a list of names, births, deaths, etc from a distant cousin in the
UK. He has included university degrees in the name suffix so that, for
instance, we see Margaret Isobel Boxer BA. BSc. PhD. This seems pretentious
to me ... I don't even have my degrees on my business card ... but I also
see some merit in the approach.

How does this group handle this?
