Ah yes, but unless you actually link the step-children to the step-parent
they do NOT show up as 1/2 children on reports. For example - I have a
daughter by my first marriage. My husband has a son and a daughter from his
first marriage. The three children are recorded with their respective
natural parents. When I go to Family View for my husband and myself (with
Show 1/2 children active) I see all three children listed as 1/2 children.
Trouble is, they aren't really half children at all, because they do not
share a natural parent. I could accept the terminolgy glitch if they WOULD
show up in reports, but they don't. A Family Group Sheet for my husband and
myself lists just the two of us - no children. A Descendant Narrative
starting with my husband correctly lists his first marriage, and his two
children and their children. It correctly states that the marriage ended in
divorce and that he then married me. But my daughter does not appear. So,
whilst I have added a notation that my step-children are not products of our
marriage I can't add the same notation about my own daughter. But as far as
both of us are concerned WE have three children.
Yes, I know this brings up the old chestnut about whether we are recording
Family History or Genealogy. Since Legacy allows us to RECORD our blended
families I do wish it would also allow us the option of REPORTING on them.

Cheers
Jan
