Bill,

You're on a mailing list.  You'll get a copy of every message sent to anyone
through the mailing list.  When we (those on the list) respond to someone
specifically, then out of courtesy, we address that person, just as I am
addressing you in this message.  However, the message is going to the whole
list and hopefully will benefit others on the list besides the person being
addressed.

"To" line in the post.
