1.

I can't seem to find a measurement of 9" to the right of the "Private box"

That's because that distance referred to the "Never Married" box. And
you'll notice that I specified "On my monitor", since all measurements
will depend upon the sizes of the monitor and the Legacy window. I was
using the length of the ACTUAL hot spot relative to the THEORETICAL,
but totally meaningless, hot spot that is indicated on the screen.

2.

there isn't anything over there that would ever cause me to place my curser
in the are and then click it

Exactly the point. Since there is nothing visible there, clicking on it
shouldn't do anything. One clicks on background areas of the screen
in order to make that program the active window and bring it to the front.

The ability to set some people to a private mode is a wonderful tool

Nobody ever suggested that it be removed. However, it should not be
that easy to turn it on or off from a great distance away from the
VISIBLE hot spot, which is totally different from the ACTUAL hot spot.

I can't seem to find a measurement of 9" to the right of the "Private box"
but all this discussion had me wondering. When I tried to select the box for
Private the only place outside the box that triggered a check was in a
direct line to the right of the box and there isn't anything over there that
would ever cause me to place my curser in the are and then click it.
Clicking just below does't seem to activate the box and just above the
private box is the bar for tags and one should be rather consious as to when
and which tag they are trying to use.

The ability to set some people to a private mode is a wonderful tool and Bob
it is seems to me the responsibility is certainly on the user.
