Hi, Paula Well, yes, I could put the grandmother on the right - if I knew she was the grandmother <vbg>. The point is, I was trying to find a blood connection between the adopted child and the adoptive mother. Reversing their positions in the R.C. made no difference, nor did changing the preferred parents. Guess we just accept this is a glitch in the Calculator! Love the prog anyway Cheers, Mary
