Carolyn: If you edit a master source, and just "Save" it, those changes will be applied to all people that use that source as a reference. The "Save" option is probably what most people will use for making a correction to a source citation.
If you want to create a new Master source based upon an existing source (this could be useful say for similar Census sources, where some of the information repeats), then edit the source and "Save as a new copy". The old source remains unchanged and you have created a new master source. Hope this helps. If I edit it, do I save: apply the change to all references of this master source or apply the change to a new copy of this master source. I really get confused when I have to fix a master source.
