What does 18 Feb 1657-1658 mean?  You know the month and day but not the
year?  Just asking.  Knowing your goal can help us come up with suggestions
for data entry.

I think you can type just "bet" and get the same results - in case every
keystroke saved helps you any.

I am just recent user of Legacy, but it may be they tightened up the
formatting in order to improve the sorting on date capabilities.

If I try to do

18 Feb 1657-1658

It shoots back with

18 Feb 1658

It will not accept the two dates together but it will if I leave a space
between them and the -

What is really annoying is that Legacy use to allow me to do this.
