Jaret,
Besides the wording of reports, there is a problem with Legacy 5 relationship calculation if an individual has only one parent. eg. child of single parent and relationship to half-sibling of single parent's later marriage, doesn't SWAP.

Legacy 5 expects every child to have two parents and every couple be a male-female combination.

Built-in wall charts are very helpful for *seeing* relationship problems and descent from common ancestors. -- Elizabeth

I am a beginner and only just joined the user group and was hoping someone could give me advice on how to handle children that were born out of wedlock...I entered a "spouse", but changed all the noun/verb combos to "met", "meeting", "friend", whatever....

...but on a report, it still says Married. Is that yet another error that I need to live with, or could I be doing something wrong? Can I link a child to his/her father without the man being the actual spouse? Can anyone offer advice to a geneaology newbie? Thanks.
