The real problem is over quoting. To most people it doesn't matter whether the quote is at the top or bottom - as long as the quote is short and the person being quoted is identified. Incidently I've worked with someone who had to use a speech e-mail client and they hated bottom posting having to listen to a robot reading through all the items being quoted before getting the new material - which would often be "I agree" or "Me too" 8-)
Search google for "top posting vs bottom posting" and you will get about 3,500,000 hits so the argument has been going on for years so lets not rehash it here!
