For USA addresses, thought it is "proper" to use the postal abbreviation. Do think it looks a bit better to have the state fully indicated however. I'm doing it both ways and must admit my files look a bit disorganized.

Any genealogical "official" standard?

Actually, I would spell out Tennessee as it is less ambiguous. The US has a state called WA, so does Australia. Try not to use abbreviations. Abbreviations from 100 years ago are not used today.
