Legacy will be available in all languages as it is in English - there will be the free Standard Edition and the Deluxe Edition for a small cost. There will be no extra charge for the language versions.
Legacy will *not* translate any data you enter in the program - it's only the program itself that's in the selected language. Anyone can help with the testing phase. Those interested will be signed up for a mailing list that they can report any translation problems on and the translation team will discuss and fix the translation if appropriate. There will be special downloads for the testers that include updated language files so they have to make sure not to download a general release but only through the announcements posted to the test group. It's been interesting to listen in on the translation process. Of course, I can't understand the messages in the native languages so I miss a lot, but there has been a lot of discussion about the correct wording in many languages with regional differences and not always understanding exactly what the English means. Again the URL for the languages is http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/InternationalLegacyVersions.asp, or you can link to it directly from our home page. Thanks for using Legacy. I looked and see the language that I want is in the list being tested. I have a Dutch cousin that I want to give Legacy to, he is able read and write English, but I want him to have a copy in his own language. If he got the English version will he be able to convert to the other copy at no extra charge when it is ready???
