That's because the Name List as are most forms in Legacy, is Modal. This
means the screen that is displayed retains the focus until a user clicks
OK, Cancel or Close as you have found out. I have my suspicions, but let
me enquire for you.

Without knowing your reasons for using the name List because the reasons
could be many; but have you considered the MudCreek program GenMatcher,
also available through Legacy. This is a great program for comparing two
files side by side, where you can compare Individuals(Events, Notes and
Sources), families, pedigrees and descendants.
