I agree and would like to see this option considered for a future update. However, for now, I can live with what's available. For 99% of my historical research, the pronoun is going to be "He" anyway.

But having the capability to use two sentences like Paula originally
tried to do would allow for more variety in the structure of reports
thereby making for more interesting reading.

Bryan, thanks for that workaround idea! I fooled around with the format and
came to the same conclusion you did. When I come across a new type of
event, it's always hard to find just the right words that will go with
anything I find for that event. However, now that an Event Report is
available, I can check and make sure my wording works for all the events I
entered way back when. I used to sometimes edit event sentences, not
realizing that they might not sound right with previously entered events of
the same type!

I did a few experiments with the [He/She] and the only place it will
capitalize the He or She is when this is the FIRST element in the sentence. I did think of your idea Paula but putting a period after the first sentence ie. between the [Sources] and the [He/She] did not help. I even tried using
the [CR] code to insert a carriage return to start a new line but the
[He/She] was still in lower case. I guess the programmers never thought
about an event sentence construct that was, in fact, more than one sentence. Sentence 1 [FirstName] appeared on the [Date] rent roll [~inPlace].[Sources]
Sentence 2 [HeShe] was listed as "[Notes]."

One work around that would still be a proper sentence would be [FirstName]
appeared on the [Date] rent roll [~inPlace] where [HeShe] was listed as
"[Notes]." [Sources]

In that construct the non-capital he/she would be correct.

I'll bet the capitalization hinges on the word following a period, which in your example it does not. ??? --Paula
