Thanks Kevin. I do have a lot of notes and events. It's rare that I need more than the thousand or so folks that I keep in my database. Oft times the information in the notes and events is important to have handy in the library but the other 25,000 are not those that I am actively researching. The thousand records are handled easily by the program and I'm sure that it would handle many more if I needed.
I would make the decision to buy this combination again without hesitation. It works easily and reliably. (I upgraded a few months ago from a 32 meg phone. The 64 of the 6315 is like when I expanded to 48K of RAM on my first PC. I'm still not sure what to do with all that memory.) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Kevin R. The # of individuals that can be synced is by no means an exact science. It all depends on the number and size of events, notes, etc. and the amount of available device memory. (You can put databases on storage cards but it's a lot slower and it still requires ample device memory for the sync to work) 26,000 names isn't a problem in itself, I know people syncing over 100,000. However I would assume in your case the # of notes, events, sources, etc. was too much for your device. (I have a 6315 as well, it would be nice if it had more device memory!) I found PG first and went to Legacy as a result of the sync ability. I am very happy with it. I am using it on an HP IPAQ 6315 and a laptop. It would not take my entire 26,000 person file but is quite happy with the 1,000 person file that I am actively working on.
