Thanks for the suggestion, but I can get those with Alt Surnames, I just can't get those married women with NO Alt Surname - which is what I am looking for.

Sharon,

I tried: Search: Individual / Alt. Surname / Not equal to / LEAVE
EMPTY what to look for,

this gives me a list of all my indivs. with alt surname! Don't forget
to do the same search on the Alt. Givennames, eg. by using the second
condition and OR.

Success,

Julian

I am trying to find all of my married females with no alternate surname. I am doing a detailed search as shown below and I am getting zero results, but
I KNOW there is one person with this situation.
MRIN greater than 1
Female Alt Surname equal to
where "What To Look For" is a typed space (have tried typing several spaces
also).

If I do :
MRIN greater than 1
Female Alt Surname greater than
where "What To Look For" is a typed space
I get LOTS of people!

The only way I have been able to find the married women with no alternate
name is to: go to the Index tab
sort by RIN
have the females a different color than the males
select show AKA
show spouse
and then I start at the bottom number (try to do this at least once a month) and scroll upward looking for a single green name in the spouse field. AND
I do NOT reuse RIN's because of this very reason.

Any suggestions?

Sharon
