To get those without Alt Names, change the "not equal to" to "equal to" and
leave the what to look for as blank. That says "tell me who doesn't have
anything there..". Using "not equal to" with a blank search says "tell me
who has something there"

Thanks for using Legacy.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I can get those with Alt Surnames, I just
can't get those married women with NO Alt Surname - which is what I am
looking for.

Sharon,

I tried: Search: Individual / Alt. Surname / Not equal to / LEAVE
EMPTY what to look for,

this gives me a list of all my indivs. with alt surname! Don't forget
to do the same search on the Alt. Givennames, eg. by using the second
condition and OR.

Success,

Julian
