Typical timeline topics would fall into these categories: Government & Politics & War, Art & Culture, Science & Technology, Daily Life, Health, Religion & Philosophy. With this you can see what new inventions were made during your great-grandmother's life, a war that might have affected a relative, etc.

To me, some events in my timeline would be "Elvis Presley - songs, Army, death", "Martin Luther King Speech at Washington Monument - I Have A Dream", "The Supreme Court unanimously outlaws racial segregation in public schools", "Vietnam War", "Polio Epidemic", "Assassination of President John F Kennedy", "Watergate", "Man Lands On Moon", "Attack on World Trade Center", "Personal Computer Invented", etc. Since my life span covers all of these events, you could see that I was alive during this time and might wonder how I was feeling or what I was thinking or where I was - AND it would be a good use to ask those really old relatives that are still iving - how did this event affect you?

Dick Eastman Made this statement about one of the new features in V6,

"Timelines - This feature lets you select timeline files containing events
from certain localities, and add them to the Timeline and Chronology reports as background information to show what was happening during a person's life.
Timeline files can be created and edited by the user."

At the risk of sounding stupid, I have to ask if this feature could serve,
the same propose as the witness events feature.

Legacy could then really compete with the more advanced software.

Okay - if there is another more advanced software, then why aren't you using

it and forget about Legacy and stop filling our mail boxes with your gripes
about what isn't available in Legacy.

I think Legacy is a good program and look forward to using it for a long
time.
