Hi Mary,
In the Master Location List, when editing a location, there is a preposition field. That's where you should put the "of" or "in" or whatever other preposition is appropriate. The default is "in".

This isn't being picked up by Legacy 5 in reports as far as I can see but is being picked up in Legacy 6 beta. Note that the preposition applies to all uses of that location.

If you want the preposition as part of the Location, eg: near Katanning, WA, Australia
you can remove the "in" in the preposition field.
and Descendant Book (in Legacy 6 beta) is reading: was born on 16 Mar 1912 near Katanning, WA, Australia,

Cheers,
Cathy

I am working on doing a book from Legacy. Some of my locations are entered
as "Of, Bridgeton, Cumberland, New Jersey." They appear in the book as "in
of, Bridgeton, Cumberland, New Jersey." I see that you can change the
preposition from "in" to "of" on the Edit screen for Locations. However,
whatever I am doing is not changing the way it appears in the book. What is
the proper way to do this?

I have entered my places in the Master Location List as <Of, Bridgeton,
Cumberland, New Jersey.> Am I supposed to just enter <Bridgeton, Cumberland,
New Jersey> and then change the "in" to "of" when I want it to read "of"?
Trouble is, I can't tell what is an "in" and what is an "of" location from
the screen if I don't enter the location in the Master Location List with
the "of". Help!
