The best thing to do is to import another file into it's own Legacy file
first.  Verify the quality of the data, make changes to formatting, etc as
necessary and *then* import the cleaned-up file into your main Family File -
afer backing up the main file, of course <rbg>

how to create a gedcom in FTM. The article is under the heading "Exporting
and Importing"

BE SURE YOU BACK UP YOUR OWN LEGACY FILE BEFORE TRYING TO ADD IN, IMPORT, OR
MERGE THE OTHER!!!
