Hi Dave,

I am a big stickler for "sources" - I put nothing in until I get a source for that date or occasion. Will exporting into another file take everything with it, including my sources? Thank you for suggestion.

I stated out wanting to tag a family and move them to their own file out of my big file of many families and was warned about a problem with that method. Waiting on a update to software I believe. NOW is there any way I can drag and drop using the split screen - open up and name a new file for that Family then drag and drop the whole family so I can send that file to someone?

Why go to all that effort?

Make a copy (or 2 or 3) of your Legacy database with a new name. Open one of these copies. Tag the individuals that you DO NOT want to keep in the family file. Note: if you have already tagged the individuals that you DO want, then use another tag to tag those that aren't tagged as wanted. Go to Advanced Deleting and delete the individuals with the tag that you DO NOT want. What remains should be all the individuals you wanted.
