Hi Don,

Sorry, I completely misunderstood the question which you were asking. I am afraid that I am unable to identify which of the files in that folder may, or may not be needed. I would add that mine is only around 4Mb in size.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Uninstall Previous Versions-Backup Folder?

Gee, I never would have thought of that!!

I thought that I had mentioned that the folder I was concerned about was the "Legacy/Backup folder on my C: drive" and its contents. It has, as I think I had mentioned, some very large files whose dates go all the way back to Legacy 2, 3, and 4. To cite some of the names, there are Legacy.001, Legacy.002 and Legacy.exe (each over 9MB), LEGACY.HLP abt. 1.4MB) and Sample.fdb (abt. 1MB).

Now, I DO understand how stuff gets into the Legacy/Backup folder but I suppose my question (which it appears was phrased quite unintellegibly) is how does it ever get out. I only have a 20GB hard drive. I'm not blessed with the 200-300 variety that allows me to let unused and unwanted data collect indefinitely.

The folders which you mention contain your personal data. The Data folder
contains the fdb files ie the data for all the people you have recorded the
web folder contains any web pages which you may have created. Pictures any
pictures you have chosen to store there. The USR files are your personal
settings. I would suggest that you double click the folders and see what is
in them.

No, I am referring to Legacy/Backup on my C: drive. It was left behind by
the install as were various folders containing data, i.e., Data, Pictures,
Web, etc. This is not unexpected, but I am concerned that 37 MB is a
considerable piece of space to be wasting, if it is in fact wasted.
