I have mentioned in a number of posts that my preferred form of presentation is via the web. Well, this morning my wife said since a lot of her family wasn't online and not computer literate she wanted me to do a tree chart and have it printed professionally. My first comment was we would have to buy the software to do that since Legacy didn't have that capability. The thing that is so funny is that during the conversation it never even crossed my mind to check v6 to see if it had been implemented. I just assumed it wasn't. I guess my expectations are getting very low.
I had a boss about 30 years ago that had a somewhat philosophical view on many things. He also turned out to be a good friend over the years. During one performance review I was lamenting the fact that I had gotten the highest rating available but the amount of my raise was soooo low. He tried to give me some advice with a comment that I have remembered over the years and every time I'm let down for any reason I can remember him saying "If you would just lower your expectations you wouldn't be so disappointed." I just sent an e-mail to Millennia Sales and to Sherry about why I won't be upgrading to V6. I am Very Disappointed that Legacy still can't make charts as nearly evey other genie product on the market can do, and some have been doing for 8+ years. The list of new features in Legacy 6 are of no or little use to me. Heck, I've never even loaded the Geo-base thingie from V5! I'm not trying to start another long discussion about the need for native charting in Legacy. Instead, I think that if any "listers" feel as I do that Legacy should include charting functions, then send a separate e-mail to Sherry and/or Legacy sales. jr Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp
