HaHa, now I see it all. When I changed my resolution from 800x600 (which
it normally is) to 1024x728 I see that there are a row of control
buttons along the bottom. I haven't seen those before as my screen ended
on the border of the selections. So the question arises why do I have to
do that now, when I have never had to, to see the bottom of the screen
in Legacy, before? Tks for the altN tip, how is found on that page, how
do you know it is there, what actually does it control? Now I see what
the Medium refers to.

Options button for what? There is an option button at the bottom of
the page. It's in the row of buttons at the bottom with OK, Cancel,
Help, Options, Reset. This enables one to vary the size of the buttons
(This is the "medium" size which you use) and show/hide text labels.
If your option button isn't there for some reason then try Alt+n.
