Debbie,
As Geoff says, that Master Source name was a suggestion, not a rule.
You will find a good number of persons on this list do indeed source
it that way. And then there are others, like me, who don't want a
thousand Master Sources in their list! I have done what you do, which
is to call my master source, for example, "1900 USA Federal Census".
In my Source detail, I list what I feel is necessary for someone else
to find the record, either online or from microfilm. So, for example,
I put in "Weymouth, Norfolk, Massachusetts; Roll: T623 672; Page: 12B;
Enumeration District: 1081; dwelling 269, family 284, William Veno
household [indexed as Willian Veno]; digital image, Ancestry.com
(accessed 2 Aug 2005)."

If you have been consistent in providing your readers a way to find
the source themselves, then you don't really need to redo your work.
If all you did was simply state the name of the census, i.e. "1850
U.S. Federal Census", then that really isn't enough information, and
you should add more data in the detail field.

As for your question, if you do decide to change the Master Source
style to the format cited by the training video, I would try to figure
out what county you found most of your sources in, and change the
master to that county. That might save you 10% of the editing. But
then you will have to follow up by citing new master sources for the
other 90%, and erasing the old source citation, especially before you
share your data!
