I Put Deceased in the Death Location. It was the only thing that worked 100%. Sondra ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Fowler Leek" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, October 05, 2005 12:18 PM Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Problem with marking individuals as "dead"
Is there anyone else on the list who has experience with this situation? It will be so helpful to know "exactly" what will need to be done in Legacy in order to avoid having deceased people marked as "Living" when uploading to RootsWeb World Connect. Mary | This does not always work. I am checking this out at the moment. On my | Legacy screen I have a person listed as born "Abt 1720" with no death | date, but the Living flag is checked to "No". This is what I sent to | RootsWeb. RootsWeb does not list the person in my index, it only lists | the person as "Living". | | I don't know if this is a feature that used to be in Legacy and now has | been dropped, or if RootsWeb is doing something different, but I need to | add the word "deceased" or something like that in order for it to work. | | Deidrich | It's only necessary to check the not living box on the individual screen | with nothing in the date or place of death. On WorldConnect at | rootsweb.com, the date of death then has a Y from the gedcom export. As | mentioned previously, the not living button can be set globally, or it | can be set by searching and marking each appropriate person. | | Lloyd Horrocks | | At 04:25 PM 10/4/2005 -0400, you wrote: | >Deidrich, | ><snip> | > | >It is an annoyance to visitors to see the word "Living" in an online | >tree, when it is so obvious the person couldn't possibly be as stated. | | >It looks like sloppy work, even when one knows (from personal | >experience) how that happened, and that it was not the doing or intent | >of the author.
