Wait.... That might be a clue..... +which+ version of EndItAll are you
using? Some versions were not good at all. Second thought, have you made a
list of items that run at boot up time? A lot of people are shocked to see
what programs load at boot up time, and sometimes didn't even know they had
that program.

Have you tried running an spyware program? If not, please do. Did you update
your antivirus program in the last 12 hours? If not, consider it and run
your antivirus program.

I agree with you, you seem to have enough memory. Without seeing your
system, I'd bet you have a user setting somewhere causing this, path
problem, or something that baffles Legacy.

I used a little utility called EndItAll to shut down everything running in
memory. After doing that Legacy works fine. So that tells me that I
either have something running that is conflicting with Legacy or a memory
issue. I wouldn't think it's memory as I have 512 meg. I'll try shutting
down things a little at a time and see which one does it.

Thanks to all who tried to recreate it.

Dave

Robert,

No, I tried scanning in a new photo directly to the Legacy folder and it
does it then too. It seems to do it every time no matter what. But like I
mentioned in another message, I can zoom in on the same photos from Picture
Center and Picture Gallery which opens the same window. But it closes fine
there. I wouldn't think it's a memory issue. I am running Windows XP SP2
with 512 meg of memory. It's got me baffled.

Thanks
Dave

Not in my case. I tried it with version 6.0.0.70, with and without pictures
in the picture folder. I even tried it with pictures *not* on the hard drive
and still on the camera card. Size doesn't seem to matter; at least on the
ones I tried. If I missed something, let me know so I can try it again for
you.
Wait, one thought -maybe-, but a long shot. Are these pictures that at one
time you move from one folder to another folder? It shouldn't make a
difference that you did that one bit so long as Legacy can find it, but
maybe that is the common cause?

I haven't seen this problem mentioned so let me describe what I'm
encountering. I have a picture posted for one individual. That picture
shows up beside her name on the Family view. If I double click on the
picture it opens a separate window with the picture enlarged. But when I
try to close that window by clicking the "X" in the upper right corner, it
seems to freeze and shut down Legacy.

Can someone else try it and see if they have the same result?

Thanks
Dave Pointer
