What you are doing to accomodate this cousin is quite time consuming and will likely lead to some confusions later with your database populated with all sorts of relationship events for a particular person other the one the then viewer may be thinking of ...

What you want is to set the option "Source-Person relationship" in the Ancestor Book Report Options Include tab. Except that it isn't there. Perhaps a good upgrade once the fixes to existing features are completed ...

I am creating an acestor report for a cousin. She is related to almost 7,000 people in my database. When I create the report, it is overwhelming for her to try to figure out how she is related to all these people. What I am doing is in the Index view, tab Details, I have the Relationship showing. I highlight and cut the relationship to this cousin, go to the Events tab, add an Event called Relationship to cousin and paste the relationship from the Details view in the Description field. This is a huge task with so many people, but I can't think of any other way to show her how she is related to each and every person in the ancestor report.

If anyone can think of an easier way - other than not indicating relationship at all - I'd appreciate their help.

Hi Ruth,

I expect you mean the Relationship to someone (the starting person of the report? yourself?) for every person mentioned. If so, this isn't available in Book Reports.

However, you can include relationship (to starting person) in the subtitles throughout the report. See the Heading Layout tab.

Hope this helps,
Cathy

Is it possible for me to have the Relationship print in an Ancestor Report?
