Exporting everything to a new Legacy file rather than a Gedcom also
sometimes works where Check/Repair doesn't. Avoids any Gedcom hassles.

Try this please. Use Legacy to make a Gedcom, being sure to export
*everything.* Now under a different name, import the Gedcom. I have had a
few people tell me that works when check and repair does not. No guarantees
about this, just a possible suggestion.
