John, I would be interested to know as I periodically get users asking about running Legacy under Linux. One of our beta testers tried a couple of years ago, testing various Windows emulators without success.
Of course, we're on Legacy v6 now so it would be nice if you could test that version! Thanks for using Legacy. I am working to get it running under the WINE Windows API Emulator (or whatever one wants to call it - http://www.winehq.com ) and also under the commercial application by Codeweavers called CrossOver Office for Linux - http://www.codeweavers.com . I'll report back here periodically on my progress (or lack thereof) in case others are interested. If I get no response/interest from this list, I will just keep my mouth (or keyboard) shut and not say anything, unless I am totally successful. I am not a programmer, but I do support Unix at work and have played with Linux on and off for over 10 years, so I should be able to have reasonable success with testing it out and getting it working. Some have had success under CrossOver Office (CXO) but as far as I know, no one has attempted to get Legacy 5.0 to work. As an aside, I've migrated almost everything from Windows over to Linux applications, but Legacy is a definite application I want to keep.
