And it might be wise to set "Always prompt for starting family file" in the
Options > Customize > General Tab if you switch between family files in
different languages. (If you've changed standard event sentences in one
language legacy will translate these to standard sentences if a Dutch (or
other language) family file is opened in the English (or other language)
version). So it seems best to always open a family file with the correct
language set. This is all theoretical I haven't checked this, because me
event sentences are all back to standard again.

I have two family files that are the same, one is in Dutch evandijken_nl and
the other one is in English evandijken_uk. My working file is the Dutch file
because that's the file that had the standard event sentences changed, in
the English file all events have always standard sentences. If I want to
generate an English website I copy my Dutch file to evandijken_uk and change
the language to English and upon reopening legacy prompts for the starting
family file and I open my English file.

George,

I don't have a language version on my computer, but if you go to Options >
Select Language, do you see the English option? In the English version we
have four English options listed.

Of course, you'll need to maintain two files because the program doesn't
translate what you enter, only what's hard-coded in the program.

Thanks for using Legacy.

Hi Bert,

I have joined the french test group and this is where I got the copy of the
unnoficial release of the french version. I was also informed to uninstall
versions in other languages as they were not compatible.

I believe the french version is a standalone version of the software and not
an international version.

There lies my problem. If i am mistaken, then my apologies.

Regards.

George.
