While I'm at it, I use a nifty editing feature that others might find useful. I imported a gedcom a while back and all of the source notes ended up in my "General" notes. Unfortunately, when you are in the edit mode for notes, you cannot get to the edit functions in the main Legacy Window, i.e., cut and paste. However, you can highlight or "block" the text with your cursor, hit Ctrl-x and the text will be sent to the Windows clipboard (as opposed to the Legacy "clipboard"). Then you can move to where you want the text - birth notes for instance - and hit Ctrl-v and the text is re-inserted. In fact, I often use this feature to copy info from one place to another. If I want the info to remain at the first location, then I block, hit Ctrl-x and then Ctrl-v to immediately paste it back in. It is now in the Windows clipboard as well and I can paste it in as many places as I want. You can even go to the Clipboard and edit the text if desired. And once in the Windows Clipboard, you can even save the data out to a separate text file. This is especially useful if you get a notes field that ends up full of "junk" but has some good stuff scattered throughout. (headers from a word processor, or leftover HTML, or whatever).
