Hi Keren,

I would put the child's information in as you found it, facts are facts.
You have the parents (And they were the parents of the child even when they weren't "married".
You have the parents marriage date.
You have the child and child's birth date.
The actual facts of the child's birth date being before the parents marriage date aren't "incorrect" (depending on the accuracy of your source material), the facts are just facts.

As for the Potential Problems Report flagging the birth date before the marriage date:
Since you know the facts are correct, you can do the following:
On the child's Individual Information view, lower left of the screen, click on the "Exclude from Potential Problems..." button. Next, check the box labeled: "Warn if children born before marriage of parents".
Click "Save".
This should prevent it from showing up as a "potential problem" in the report for this individual child in the future.

Hope this helps,
Kind regards,
Dan

Subject: [LegacyUG] Legacy6 deLuxe- child out of wedlock how to put it in Legacy

Found a funny thing today, a couple in the 1780's had a child out of wedlock eight years before they actually got married and had the other children. How am I going to put this into Legacy? When I put the data of the child in the existing marriage Legacy will give a warning and rightly so; it is incorrect. Make a duplicate parent link and add unmarried will probably work confusing.
I am also wondering how to send this to TR.
How are you on this list tackle a problem like this?

Looking forward to some answers,
TIA, Keren
