Perhaps SKS can suggest to me what the first few entries on the list relate
to - specifically the abbreviation <Alt. > preceding 'birth', "burial",
"christening" & "death".

In general genealogy usage what does alt mean and when should I use either
of these options? If they are VERY VERY used then I 'm tempted to delete
them to shorten the list of options.
