I would have thought the only logical way to record maiden names would be to use it as the surname of the woman concerned when you enter her. Otherwise,
if you enter Mary Smith (because she is the wife of John Smith) and her
sister Jane Brown (wife of Bill Brown) and their brother Fred Nerk the three
siblings would have different surnames, with only the male having the same
surname as the father. I thought it was convention to always enter a person
with the name they were born with.

Hi Evan,

Either put the maiden name in the surname box when entering the details and
the married name in the AKA field (click the 3 heads next to the books on
the Family View screen) or vice versa. You can change them around as you
wish.
