Legacy allows the searching of date fields by value only. The desire to
search by content has been much discussed here on the list. There seems
to be considersble interest in this except on the part of the developers
so we will probably never see it.
We are often supplied "work-arounds" but those usually require that one
becomes an Access programmers.

And Jonathan is right, you can't search for a date that "contains"
anything, like Est, which is too bad as that would be a handy search
criteria for other parts of dates, in my opinion.
