I am interested in the possibility of reverting to Version 5. I have updated to
Standard
Version 6 (operating on Windows 98) but it seems to be a lot more resource
intensive. I am
running out of memory (even with other programs closed) and have several times
managed to
get the message Run-time error '-2147024882 (8007000e)', either when using
split window
and/or sub-windows e.g. edit [person] - add event - add source - cite source
etc [crash!]

I never had these problems with Version 5. If I go back, what happens to the
family files
that have already been converted to the new format? Will I still be able to
open/edit
them?

Or is there something else wrong - perhaps a bug that is about to be corrected??

Winifred,

You could always get a new copy of the Version 5 Install program then and save
it to the
Download Folder. Previous versions of Legacy can be downloaded from
http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/helpDownloadVersion5.asp. The proper full
install version
is the second choice and is 16.4 MB. The first is a smaller program that will
download
files from the web as it does the install.
