Hi everyone,

Thanks for all the imput. :)

I had tried to edit the Legacy file in Notepad and as I said, I lost all my graphics for that page. Obviously
I did something wrong. LOL

However, I have used UltraEdit before and have a copy of Frontpage somewhere, plus I've been dabbling around
in Publisher. :)

I used the Wizard in Publisher, hyper-linked Legacy in, and then I had the problem of having 2 index.html files!

So I canned the Publisher page, and have just uploaded Legacy...
www.silkweb.com.au

I do have some basic knowledge of HTML, having made a skelton :) webpage in the past.

However, let's face it for a newbie, having Legacy build a webpage with over 2500 people in it, saves
a lot of time. :)

Ron has kindly sent me an email, so I'll give it another go. :) Well let you know what happens. LOL

Kind regards,
Sherrie.

Any program that will handle a plain text file can be used to edit or create a page of html. None will cause any problems -- any that occur are the result of the editor's ability, not the program's. I build and edit all my web pages using UltraEdit; I can also recommend the HTML editor by CoffeeCup Software. Whatever your choice, don't ever use WYSIWYG; there are many on-line guides for learning basic coding and you'll be far better served spend a little time in study then falling victim to the seduction of quick and easy automation.

As for Frontpage, the less said the better.

You have to be careful how you go about editing web pages with html. If you do it in something like Notepad, it may cause you problems. I am not sure which editing software, but I do know that some of them will mess up your pages if you make any edits without the proper software and others don't. I
am sure someone else would know more about which ones you may or may not
use. I have Microsoft Frontpage, so it is a breeze for me.
